Picture for Steve

Hiking around the lake today, came across this place. Would be at home among the cabins at the resort by the look of it.

I’ve been talking to Steve about the lake, what a great spot for a break etc. But he’s no outdoors type, unless you’re talking golf courses – but then I hear he’s not much of a golf type either. Says his handicap is that he “can’t swing a damn’ club.”

Anyway I’ll tell him I’ve found him the perfect accommodation. Plenty of fresh air – even indoors — and no risk of a fire since the entire structure is 90% water I think.

I’m going to talk to Doris tonight, see what’s what. Must be some reason her resort isn’t already heaving with vacationers, unless it’s just the cabins. Still, there’s a campsite, and a field for RVs. Maybe it’s the social media these days — I have read a few bloody awful reviews. Apparently the food in the restaurant is pretty much a match for the quality of the accommodation.

Then there’s Doris. She does make you feel a little uninvited. Like a gatecrasher? Her expression is something you might expect if you just opened the oven door and her cake sank. No — it’s as though she was expecting someone else, someone so much more interesting, that she’s unable to hide her disappointment when you show up.
